Would you ever go to a convention outside of the US? I’m a huge fan and live in England, and I’d love to meet you! I know there are lots of other UK fans too!

We would love to, but it’s not an open venue for us right now - mostly because travel is pretty expensive. If we got a con invite, we wouldn’t say no~

I’m a huge fan of all your works, the Jisei series in particular, and I was wondering if you had a name for the next one yet? I was ranting about looking forward to a new game to my friend and she asked what it was called and I just stared blankly for a few minutes before continuing to fangirl over Li Mei and bunnies.

Hehe, Li Mei and bunnies are the best. We don’t have a name yet. There are a couple I’m debating over, and we’ll have an official announcement somewhere down the line.

How do you get the CG of Liam falling on his face in Kansei? I got it once on accident and then I never figured out how to get it again.

Mild spoilers: During the initial exploration, split up and go see Marissa. Tell her the truth, and agree to work with he. After Marissa tells you about Liam’s side dealings, go see Liam. You might have to go a couple times, since he has other things to say first. Eventually, he’ll head to his room and you can get that CG.

Will we be able to download/buy the songs from Backstage Pass? I’m so madly in love with Adam’s voice!!

The OST and Adam’s EP (with several songs) will both be available to buy separately, or packaged with the special edition of Backstage Pass (more details on the special edition as we work them out).

Since people were asking, the Mizutani twins look younger than their given age due to a mix of genetics and their exercise habits (lots of running >.>). It’s something Aki uses to her advantage a lot.

Spoiler:

Their ages are hinted at in Kansei when Marissa reveals that the experiments at Edgewater were done a little more than twenty years ago.

Ooh, lots of questions this go-around. Let’s hop to it!

Are you planning on releasing any spin-offs or short stories for your previous or future games? I’d like to see more of the Jisei series and of Re: Alistair.

It could be argued that Backstage Pass is a spinoff of RE: A++, although the exact nature won’t be entirely clear until it’s out. We might do more with Rivenwell Online sometime, but there’s no solid plan for it yet. We definitely have some ideas for spinoffs of Jisei, like a short series of less horrible mysteries (stolen jewels, lost cats) that will come out after the main storyline is complete.

Who does the writing in your group?

Ayu Sakata. Normally this is where I’d add “She’s great! Go check out her other work!” but since it’s me, I’d feel really awkward doing that.

Are there any plans for other merchandise of your games? The only merch I’ve seen is a Alistair figurine and an Artbook for RE:A (which I can’t buy since the shipping fees on Lulu is too expensive).

We’ve got a lot of merchandise we sell at cons, like shirts, keychains, etc. but we don’t have an online store quite set up for that yet (partially because shipping rates really do become insane after a while). But we are working on a way to make it work - so in theory there will be some nice things available to buy online someday. As for upcoming merchandise, there will likely be keychains and phone charms in the near(ish) future.

Hey SakeVisual! I love your work (played almost all of your games) and I’m just a little curious if you’re going to make a figure of all of the RE:Alistair++ characters?

Aww, thank you~ Whether or not we make more Alistair figures depends on how well Alistair sells. At the price they’re at right now, we’re basically breaking even on the price (I know, I know - not “smart business,” but I never claimed I was here for the money). If we get close to selling out, we’ll put up a poll for the next character to get figure-fied. We do have plans for a Li Mei figure eventually, since she and Alistair tied on the “which figure should we make?” poll, so expect to see one of those before another Alistair figure comes out.

Sakevisual is heading to A-KON this weekend! We will be located in the Trinity Exhibits Hall sharing a table with Sayuri Studios. I don’t know our table number yet, but look for a nice Li Mei poster. And me, I guess (picture out of date - current hair much longer).

Only one question this week. No problem~

I am making a Visual Novel of my own and though I’ve searched to my best abilities, I never found out how to make a Credit Roll at the end. Could you help me? :(

I assume you’re working in Ren’py? In general, I’d recommend directing all questions to the Ren’py questions board, as you’ll get more useful (and faster) responses there. There’s also the Ren’py Cookbook board, which has all sorts of neat little bits of code that you can use for your game.

The method I use is a little obsolete. It uses ParameterizedText, places all the credits inside it, and then I use ATL to move it across the screen. I’m pretty sure (but I haven’t actually tried - so I could be wrong?) that with the current version of Ren’py, it’s a better idea to use a Text displayable.

General note: All future questions about how to do things in Ren’py will be answered with a direct to the Ren’py help board. While my code is functional, it is sometimes inelegant, and I’m not comfortable teaching people messy coding practices.

Will Sian be voiced? Are only major characters voiced, or is it full voice acting?

Ah, fie on me for not tagging Q&R Mondays. Well, I have gone back and tagged all the Q&R Monday posts, so responses are now available at all times! This is the answer to the first part, BTW. And everyone gets a voice. While I do keep Kangai unvoiced in Jisei, I’ve never fully understood why minor bits and supporting cast wouldn’t get any voice at all. S’probably just me, though.

Is Kangai gonna have a voice of his own for the last 2 games? Since Sian (the MC) will be having a voice. It’d be pretty neat to see how Kangai might sound like.

Wow, so many voice questions! And EVN makers tell me no one cares about voices. For the sake of consistency, the MC in all of the Jisei games will remain unvoiced. That doesn’t necessarily mean you won’t hear what Kan sounds like eventually, but it won’t be through that particular venue.

The Prestige is an excellent show about two magicians, and for some reason I can imagine Benito liking that show. I keep thinking John would like Sherlock BBC… XD The game’s not even out, and here are my silly headcanons.

Whoa… everyone likes The Prestige. XD Benito does take inspiration from various real-world sources, including one of my favorite magicians. And John is definitely a fan of Sherlock. He’s kind of hoping he’ll be invited to be in it one day.

It just occurred to me to ask, but out of curiousity, will how she dress make any difference on whether you can ‘win’ a guy? Like I know you said it affects how they’ll see her, but does that also include any affection flag like, say, if you don’t dress her this way he won’t be interested or something of the sort?

Think of when you meet a person for the first time - what they wear will have an influence on your opinion of them. But as you get to know them, their personality and actions shape your opinion more than their clothing. The same goes for this. The clothes you choose can make a character more inclined to like you from the getgo, but it’s not the final deciding factor. If there’s a shirt you just really like wearing no matter what, it won’t stop you from getting a romance ending.
